A table card tutorial for Jo's Scrap Shack (Little Blue Button Stamps images)

Hi everyone,

I won a Guest Designer spot at Jo's Scrap Shack and Jo suggested a tutorial to go along with it. I've made a couple of these shaped cards in the past and never showed how to create it so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to show Jo's crafty friends and mine how to make one of these cards.

It's one of my favourite shaped cards - A lady by the name of Katie K first gave me the idea after I saw her icecream stand card tutorial. I call it a table card but if there's a real name for it I'd love to know.

I have a lot of photos rather than writing as I think it's easier to follow but feel free to comment or email me if my instructions aren't easy to understand and I'll be happy to try and make them clearer. Here's my finished card (below) so you know what it is I'm doing the tutorial on, I used gorgeous girlies from Little Blue Button Stamps:

This was so much fun to create, I also paper pieced all of their dresses.

So here's how to create your own table card:

Once this shaped card has been created you can go ahead and decorate it with anything you like! Here are close ups of my card:

If you create one of these from my tutorial I would really love to see it so please email me or comment sending me a link to your blog post :)

This is my third table card so here's a couple of links to see the others for more ideas on decorating: a cupcake stand card and Love hearts for sale card.  I'm hoping to create and Christmas one soon.

Thank you again to my lovely blog friend Jo for asking me to be a guest designer, I have loved it!

Shaped girly card with balloons (All Dressed Up image)

Hi Crafty Friends,

I had a challenge for a magazine of creating 7 cards with one 30x30cm sheet of patterned paper. So you may recognise this navy and teal paper in a few previous posts already. They are all very different cards so I was happy with my creations and it was less tricky than I expected.

I used a teal pearls and beautiful Elise flowers from Flourish with a Bling, my company, click on our name to go to our store if you'd like to check them out, they come in a range of colours.

I paper pieced the little girl's hat with the paper. I did attach string to the balloons but posted the cards to the magazine before I took a new photo. The balloon die was a free one with a magazine, I love it! You can find the sweet little image at All Dressed Up.

A girl in the window card (Paper Nest Dolls image)

Hi Crafty Friends,

I hope you're enjoying 2016 so far :)

I have 3 cards to show today and this first one includes an image from Paper Nest Dolls. I coloured the little girl and the window frame then fussy cut around them so that I could add the pink "wall" background and some patterned "curtains".

I was not really impressed with my new pressie (Aussie slang for present hehe) which was a brick wall die. The bricks in the middle didn't cut properly so I'm not sure if I need a new cutting mat or the die isn't good enough, hopefully I just need a new mat! Anyway, I decided it worked for this purpose as she is supposed to be in a house window so the bricks should be there haha!

Shabby Chic window card (Magnolia stamp image)

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I've created with Magnolia stamps so I decided to get them back out and now I've created 2 cards to show you with my lovely Tildas on them.

I had grand designs for an easel card with windows and doors, lovely front garden etc but when I realised how large my window and shutters were, that idea quickly went out the window (pardon the pun hehe). I created a brick effect behind the window with my brown copic marker (E37) and my colourless marker. I have also used some chipboard corners and heat embossed them with some white powder. I distressed and inked all the edges to give it a shabby chic feel.

Flourish with a Bling have a 50% off sale all throughout May, everything is half off for only another 26 hours!!
